David Yoder, DDS
Dr. David Yoder grew up in a small town in Indiana and then attended college at Butler University in Indianapolis. After working as a chemist for a few years, Dr. Yoder went back to graduate school at Indiana University and then went to dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Yoder worked in different locations around Jacksonville for several years before opening Palm Valley Family Dentistry in 2013.
Dr. Yoder is very active in continuing education, striving to stay on the cutting edge of dentistry and striving to provide the optimal treatment for his patients. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Jacksonville Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Guild of Dental Scholars. He is also does research with the University of Florida and the National Practice Based Research Network. He has done dental mission work in Jamaica and regularly volunteers in the community through the Love in Action Dental Clinic and St. Vincent’s mobile dental unit.
Dr. Yoder met his wife, Katie, while studying abroad in London during college. Katie is a Jacksonville native and a family physician with St. Vincent’s Primary Care. Drs. David and Katie Yoder are happy to call Ponte Vedra Beach home and enjoy life close to the beach with their two children – Ben and Lilly. When not enjoying time with his family, Dr. Yoder is an avid runner and triathlete.
Dr. Susan Prater
Dr. Susan Prater joined Palm Valley Family Dentistry in 2018. Dr Prater grew up in Roswell, Georgia and attended University of Georgia. She graduated from the Medical College of Georgia with her dental degree and has been practicing in St Mary’s, Georgia for nearly a decade.
Dr. Prater is passionate about quality care for all of her patients. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Jacksonville Women’s Dental Society as well as other dental study clubs in Jacksonville.
Dr. Prater met her husband, David, during college. They moved to Nocatee / Ponte Vedra in 2018 and are thrilled to live in this area of Northeast Florida. Dr. Prater’s husband David works in finance for Fanatics, a large sports merchandising company headquartered in Jacksonville. They have two sons, Sam and Jacob, and a golden retriever named Jackson. When Dr Prater is not working or with her family, she enjoys snowboarding, painting, exercising, and Georgia Bulldog football.
